continue the activities Comic Book Club that coordinates the magazine in partnership with Museo del Oro Quimbaya Bank of the Republic. Now in its second season, with more than 20 sessions over, the club of Armenia has become a space to share readings that lead to surprises, trips, friendly gossip and rumors about the comics. Each Saturday from August 2009, the editors of the magazine together with 15 others, each with a different shell but all alert to discover what you can give the most comprehensive training readers. "Integral? Yes, like cookies or bread, the club is thinking like a space that feeds with various vitamins and, contrary to what might your name, club members are invited to not only read comics. On their heads going, without distinction or exclusion, a rich marriage of literature, film, television, music and a few other topics drawn from a useless conversation. Sure, comics are in the heart of the matter, but are not tied each palate preferences.
Actually, reading is left to the private space of each other, or terrorists of intimacy that we were, and what is done in Club is to open the door to a table of salads and desserts: references and reading comments that crave and celebrate the wealth of comic books. And also created, they become comic.
We're happy to say that the Book Club was rated as a reference and has been replicated successfully in other cities thanks to the encouragement of the Library Network of the Bank of the Republic. For example, here a sample of what's happening and read in Bogotá.
And on account what's the big word is loose? Well, this Saturday, May 8 will have a special activity. One of the things that encourage the public of Armenia is a standing invitation that we extend to authors, publishers and scholars of comics in the country and elsewhere. For Armenia it's been Truchafrita , Joni b , Powerpaola , Ernán Cirianni and Anna Bas Backer and the turn is now to Pablo Guerra .
Paul is a writer, editor and, above all, the reader. As coordinator of the Readers Club Bogota We have maintained solid contact around reading comics and that's what motivated us to invite. Thus, his arrival in Armenia will be this Saturday, and will work on two things: a workshop and a talk. Both activities have a different approach from previous guests, as Paul will walk in a line that do not play in the workshops of previous visits to the chair of the Club of Armenia: creating a comic script.
Paul, who studied literature at the Universidad de los Andes and did an MA in Screenwriting for film and television at the Autonomous University of Barcelona , has spent several years researching the comics and graphic novels, specifically on the relationship between the ninth art and literature. It also has credentials as a creator, having produced many cartoons published in national and international journals.
With those cards on the table, the activity on Saturday is as follows:
Dancing to our views on reading, decided to crush the name of "Reading is for troublemakers", and so get in the path of those who believe that reading is not an easy activity and monotonous, but an exercise in applying some risk.
The appointment will be at the Museo del Oro Quimbaya (Avenida Bolívar No. 40N-80, Armenia), and this is the agenda, with a description of each activity, courtesy of Paul
