All That Heaven Allows

Although (almost) nobody missed me, I'm back.

Last night I gave a tribute to those of good melodrama, with Only heaven knows of Douglas Sirk , which is one of those classics that are a work of art, but are recommended for several reasons.

The thing is a widow (Jane Wyman , who in his old age would be Angela Channing) that the clitoris begins to make bubbles with his gardener, who is the sexy newcomer to Rock Hudson, who spends smiling and making the movie gay face. And the story goes that, the social rejection experienced by couples for the difference of class and age.

Alberto Mira framed the film as called "ordinary homoemotional" , although I prefer the definition of elputojacktwist when Wyman died: a queer film.

That said, melodrama aside, it is highly recommended and is a formal beauty. Fall, decadent and effective in its style.

Questran of protoWisteria Lane.
